NAS ARRIVES IN FINLAND ON HIS 30TH ANNIVERSARY TOUR OF THE ILLMATIC ALBUM
Grammy-winning American artist Nas is embarking on a tour this fall to celebrate the 30th anniversary of his iconic Illmatic album. Released in 1994, the album is considered one of the most significant and influential hip-hop albums of all time. The Illmatic 30 Year Anniversary Tour kicks off in Finland, as Nas performs at the Helsinki House of Culture on Tuesday, October 22, 2024. Tickets for the concert will go on sale on Thursday, April 25, at 10 am on Lippu.fi.
Hip-hop legend Nas, who rose to fame from Queensbridge, New York, is also celebrating the 30th anniversary of his Illmatic album with a newly released single titled “Define My Name,” produced by his long-time collaborator DJ Premier.
Illmatic is not only widely regarded as one of the best hip-hop albums but also one of the greatest albums of all time. Each rhyme on the album is personal, meaningful, and charged, collectively painting a vivid picture of what it was like to grow up in 1990s New York City. Behind the album’s recognizable sound is a dream team of hip-hop music creators, including top producers DJ Premier, Large Professor, Q-Tip, Pete Rock, and L.E.S.
The album, which has gone double platinum in the United States, features songs that have become modern classics, such as “N.Y. State of Mind,” “Halftime,” “The World Is Yours,” and “It Ain’t Hard to Tell.”
